Forge FC mulling over multiple offers — with interest from North America and Europe — for Kwasi Poku

Kwasi Poku's absence from Forge FC's starting XI raised a few eyebrows on Wednesday night, causing head coach Bobby Smyrniotis to reveal post-match that the 21-year old Brampton-born striker was sidelined due to "quite a bit of interest" in the transfer market.
Sources told The Wanderers Notebook that Poku has garnered interest from across North America and Europe with his play this season, highlighted by crucial goals scored against MLS competition in the Canadian Championship. Multiple clubs have made offers for Poku's services, although nothing has been agreed to as of yet.
Poku's path to professional football was prototypical; he played for his local club, Brampton East, before landing at Toronto FC's youth academy. Unable to get first team football, Poku left Toronto FC in favour of Forge in 2022.
This year, Smyrniotis moved Poku up forward, playing the former left-back as a striker. The results speak to Poku's breakout season as his size and technical ability have proved deadly in front of goal: the 21-year old as scored 10 goals across all competitions while adding two helpers. Poku's eight goals in league play have him sitting tied for second in the CPL's Golden Boot race.
With several bidders at play, it remains to be seen if and when Forge sells their breakout attacker.
Poku has suited up 70 times for Forge since joining in 2022, winning two championships.
