Sources: Former Wanderer Dan Nimick inks two-year deal with Forge FC

Former Halifax Wanderer defender Dan Nimick is officially headed to Hamilton, sources told The Wanderers Notebook on Tuesday. The news is expected to be announced later today, with the Labradorian-born centre-back signing a two-year contract with Forge FC.
This publication reported last week that the two sides were moving towards a deal that would see the former Vancouver Whitecaps MLS SuperDraft pick suit up for the Hammers' upcoming CONCACAF Champions Cup matches.
Nimick, 24, joins Forge after two years spent on the East Coast. While under head coach Patrice Gheisar, Nimick quickly emerged as one of the league's most versatile defenders, registering 15 goals and six assists across 54 appearances. He received nominations for Defender and Players' Player of the Year in 2023, although his form dipped during the 2024 season.
Nimick is the latest CPL star to sign for Forge, joining the likes of Brian Wright, who won Players' Player of the Year with York United. Although not confirmed, Mo Babouli has also been spotted training in Hamilton while two-time CPL Player of the Year Tristan Borges signed a new multi-year deal to keep him in orange.
Forge, who won the CPL Shield as regular season champions, are scheduled to host CF Monterrey on February 5.
