Sources: Manny Aparicio has CPL offers on the table to make him the highest paid player in the league but MLS interest comes first

The Manny Aparicio sweepstakes is in full swing.
Following the conclusion of the 2023 CPL season, Aparicio immediately became the league's marquee free agent as his contract expired at Pacific FC. Since then, the player has been in discussions with clubs across the CPL, USL and MLS.
A report published on Dec. 11 stated the 28-year old midfielder is pursuing a move to MLS with heavy interest coming from the Vancouver Whitecaps, Toronto FC and CF Montréal. A few American-based clubs are also in the mix. The Wanderers Notebook has confirmed this report to be accurate and, if given the opportunities, believe Aparicio would sign with an MLS club.
However, if discussions fall through, Aparicio has plenty of CPL suitors.
Sources confirmed multiple CPL clubs have been in contact with the 2023 Player of the Year nominee, including multi-year contract offers which could make Aparicio the highest paid player in the league. Multiple sources confirmed the Halifax Wanderers were one of the clubs interested.
Aparicio recently finished his third campaign with Pacific, two of which earned him Player of the Year nominations. The box-to-box midfielder contributed at both ends of the pitch this season, recording four goals and five assists through 27 matches, while donning the captain's armband on several occasions.
Previous to his time at Pacific, Aparicio captained York United for 31 matches. He also spent time at Toronto FC and in Spain.
