Sources: Riley Ferrazzo signs with York United FC

Full-back Riley Ferrazzo, formerly of the Halifax Wanderers, is heading home and has signed with York United FC, sources told The Wanderers Notebook on Tuesday.

Ferrazzo, 25, originally joined the CPL in 2023, making the jump from League1 Ontario champions Vaughan Azzurri with head coach Patrice Gheisar to the Wanderers.

During his time in Halifax, Ferrazzo proved his versatility and was often used as a catalyst wherever Gheisar needed energy in his line up. A natural full-back, Ferrazzo made 45 appearances for Halifax.

Now, said sources, Ferrazzo is signed to York United, returning to his home province to a club with big ambitions. York United had their most productive season on and off the pitch last year, with their new ownership in Game Plan Sports working to improve the squad and matchday atmosphere.

They also recently confirmed Mauro Eustaquio as their head coach following the departure of Benjamin Mora.
