Sources: Valour FC to exercise midfielder Jordan Faria's option

Midfielder Jordan Faria is staying in Winnipeg for 2025, sources told The Wanderers Notebook on Thursday, with the club opting to exercise their option on his contract. The move has not yet been announced by the club.

Faria, 24, joined Valour last year from Toronto FC II and tallied two goals and fives assists across his 27 appearances for the Manitoba-based club. He was also a favourite of head coach Phil dos Santos, earning 22 starts and playing nearly 1,800 minutes.

Valour has had a busy December, announcing earlier this week that both captain Raphael Ohin and goalkeeper Jonathan Viscosi would be back for 2025, the club having exercised their options. Valour also announced that they had re-signed defender Gianfranco Facchineri to a new deal which would keep the former CPL - U-Sports draft pick in Winnipeg through 2026.

The club still has options on several players, including defenders Themi Antonoglou and Roberto Alarcón and attackers like Abdul Binate, Loic Kwemi and Jordan Swibel. Valour announced on December 3 that it had opted to not exercise options for Joe Hanson, Charalampos Chantzopoulos and Jordan Haynes.

The Wanderers Notebook previously reported that the club had also decided to exercise midfielder Dante Campbell's option.
