Sources: Valour to exercise midfielder Dante Campbell’s option

Defensive midfielder Dante Campbell is staying in Winnipeg for 2025, sources told The Wanderers Notebook on Sunday, with the club opting to exercise their one year option on his contract.
Campbell, 25, has been integral to the structure of head coach Phil Dos Santos’ squad over the last two seasons, playing 51 matches since 2023. Campbell also logged over 4,000 minutes in league play during his time in Winnipeg and, this year, was a big part of Valour’s playoff push, which ultimately fell short.
Still, with most of Valour’s squad with contract options, it’s possible much of the club’s core returns for next year. Having Campbell locked in for 2025 is the first of many off-season steps for the club.
Previous to joining Valour, Campbell spent time in the USL with L.A. Galaxy II. He began his career at Toronto FC’s academy.
