Sources: Vancouver FC in negotiations to sign full-back Kunle Dada-Luke

It appears former Pacific FC star Kunle Dada-Luke may be joining the other side of the Salish Sea Derby, with sources telling The Wanderers Notebook on Wednesday that Vancouver FC was in negotiations to sign the 25-year old full-back.
Previously, this publication reported that Dada-Luke — who played four seasons on Vancouver Island, including winning a championship in 2021 — was exploring interest across North America. Multiple clubs, said sources, in USL and CPL were in conversations with Dada-Luke’s camp.
However, it became apparent in recent weeks that Dada-Luke was most likely bound for a CPL return. Sources explained talks between Vancouver FC and Dada-Luke are progressing well, with the expectation that the deal will get over the line.
Dada-Luke made 117 appearances with Pacific since 2021. Raised in Mississauga, Ont., but carrying both Canadian and Nigerian passports, the lightning quick full-back impressed with his consistency and work ethic and eventually established himself as a CPL stalwart.
Dada-Luke previously spent time at Toronto FC II as a youth player and later signed with Atlético Ottawa in 2020, although he did not make any appearances with them during the Island Games.
