Sources: Vancouver FC is shopping Gabriel Bitar, multiple CPL clubs interested

Vancouver FC is actively shopping midfielder Gabriel Bitar, multiple sources briefed on negotiations told The Wanderers Notebook.
Bitar, 25, has been a key player of Vancouver FC head coach Afshin Ghotbi's attack since joining the Eagles in 2023 and has registered 43 appearances across all competitions. As one of the returning players, Bitar has again logged significant minutes for Vancouver, registering three goals and two assists in league play. Bitar is also still the only player in Vancouver's history to score two goals in a single match.
However, with Vancouver having only one win in their last 10 matches, the club is looking to shake up their roster as they make a push for the playoffs. Also, as recently as Monday, Ghotbi spoke about "mending" relationships within the squad.
Sources noted Bitar's services are in demand with at least two CPL clubs — the Halifax Wanderers and Pacific — believed to have made bids. There's also been interest from Asia; Bitar recently represented Lebanon at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
