Sources: Wanderers re-sign midfielder Lorenzo Callegari to new multi-year deal

The Halifax Wanderers have agreed to new terms with French midfielder Lorenzo Callegari, sources told The Wanderers Notebook on Tuesday. Although not officially announced by the club, sources noted the former Paris Saint-Germain player has committed to the Wanderers after mulling over his future this off-season. Exact details of the agreement — beyond spanning multiple years — are not known at this time.
Callegari, 26, has been instrumental to Halifax head coach Patrice Gheisar's system since arriving in 2023. The Frenchman has made 54 appearances over that time, with nine assists and two nominations for Players' Player of the Year to his name. Callegari was also nominated for CPL Player of the Year in 2023. His 3,725 passes lead the CPL over the past two seasons.
Born in Meudon, France, Callegari began his footballing career in Paris Saint-Germain's academy. He went on to play with the first team before making a move to Genoa CFC in Italy; he later appeared for several other clubs in both Italy and France.
